About Us

Benton County Fire Protection District #2 operates under a collaborative leadership model that balances governance, administration, and operations to best serve our community.

The District is governed by a Board of Fire Commissioners, composed of three elected officials from the local community. Commissioners are elected by public vote to serve six-year terms and are responsible for establishing policy, providing strategic direction, and ensuring fiscal, legal, and organizational accountability of the Fire District.

District-wide business operations are supported by the District Executive Director of Business and Administration Operations and the District Executive Financial Officer. These executive leadership positions oversee business services, financial management, compliance, and administrative functions. They work collaboratively under the direction of both the Board of Fire Commissioners and the Fire Chief to ensure alignment between governance, operations, and fiscal responsibility.

The Fire Chief serves as the District’s chief executive officer and is responsible for overall leadership of the Fire District. This includes operational readiness, personnel management, strategic planning, and implementation of policies established by the Board of Fire Commissioners. The Fire Chief ensures that emergency services are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with District standards and community expectations.

The Deputy Fire Chief supports the Fire Chief in the day-to-day management of the Fire District and provides leadership across operational and administrative functions. The Deputy Fire Chief assists with supervision, training, operational planning, and coordination of resources, and may act on behalf of the Fire Chief as delegated.

The Assistant Fire Chief (Volunteer), along with Shift and Day Captains, provides direct leadership at the operational level. These officers oversee company-level operations, supervise personnel, manage training and scheduling, and support administrative functions such as policy implementation, compliance, and daily coordination of emergency response activities.

The Fire District is proudly staffed by a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters, supported by career firefighters and leadership personnel. Together, they work to deliver effective, efficient, and responsive fire and emergency services to the residents of Benton County.
